Santa Zaķe

This image is part of a series created for the Zaķe sisters in the Netherlands. As we were all students of Katia Veekmans at the time, we were fortunate to be able to hold the photoshoot inside the conservatoire, giving us access to its Steinway pianos.

The image was lit with a single flash, with a silver reflector placed on the opposite side to soften the contrast, enhance the shadows and recover some dynamic range.

One of my favourite details is the way the reflective spheres at the end of the sleeve catch the light.
